Rescued 2 year old mini schnauzer

Question
I just rescued a 2 year old Mini Schnauzer. She is afraid of everything! I was told she lived with an elderly man and he became sick or passed away and his family acquired her and didn't want her. She is a sweet girl who shows in her eyes that she wants so badly to be loved and give love back but, is terrified. Her teeth were terrible when I acquired her and I have since taken her to the vet and had the teeth cleaned and had her spayed. She is slowly coming around but, suffers setbacks with the least intimidation. I have attempted to walk her outside but she sits and refuses to move. I tried a harness and a collar. She seems to tolerate the collar a bit better but refuses to walk with me and will pull out of the collar at first chance. Should I try to allow her time to settle before attempting this? I really want her to walk on a leash so she can be more socialized with family and friends and go to the doggy park and walking on the beach. I have 2 other dogs and my son has a boxer. She is ok with my little guys but, is petrified of the boxer and all he wants to do is play. He is very obedient but, she cowers. Can you give me some advise?

Answer
Well it will probably take a lot of time, but sometimes treats will help things along.esp small pieces of hotdogs, sometimes dogs will make friends with someone if they are offered a trreat by the person. Also sometimes it will work for walks as well.Giving her a few weeks to settle may help as well as things do take time.

Also taking her to obedience classes once she is well settled in will give her confidence-but wait about 2 months before you do that
