WHEN I TAKE THE PUPPY OUT OF THE ROOM SO THE OLDER DOG CAN EAT, THE OLDER DOG JUST KEEPS STANDING AT THE GATE LOOKING FOR THE PUPPY, IF THE PUPPY IS IN THE ROOM, THE OLDER DOG DOESNT WANT TO EAT,I TRIED TO FEED HER BY HAND AND SHE ATE FOR THE FIRST DAYS BUT TODAY SHE DIDNT WANT TO EAT AT ALL, EVEN CHICKEN, SHE ACTS LIKE SHE IS SCARED, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, THE FIRST 3 DAYS MY OLDER DOG WAS SCARED OF HER, NOW IT SEEMS SHE IS GETTING THE IDEA THAT SHE IS STAYING THERE, I JUST DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE EATING, SHE PLAYS WITHT HE PUPPY BUT DOESNT SEEM TO WANT TO EAT. THANKS.

Answer
The first step is to evaluate both dogs using the method in this link, http://www.puppychow.com/products/popup_body_condition.aspx  Puppies commonly come from the breeder cute little butter balls that need to lose weight.  Unfortunately too many of them grow up to be overweight adults.  It is easy to over feed little dogs such as a Pug.

All that is leading up to suggesting it may not hurt the Pug to miss a few meals.  I really think you are better off not offering her the chicken and waiting her out.  Offer her her food, and if she doesn't eat it. take it away.

Put down the dish with what the dog should eat, and give it 15 minutes to eat. Then take it up. Do not give it anything to eat until its next scheduled meal or maybe the puppies if it is getting fed more frequently. In a few days, it should be eating what it needs. Continue to check its ribs and adjust the food as needed. This is not easy. I had a Shepherd go 3 days on a few nibbles. I was a wreck, but she was fine. It is almost unknown for a healthy dog not to eat what it needs. Unfortunately, in too many cases, it is less than the package says, and less than the owner thinks the dog should have. Many dogs are quite good at holding out for tastier chow. Like kids, sometimes it calls for tough love.

Give the Pug plenty of attention.  Perhaps some walks leaving the puppy behind.  Fetch, ear scratches, whatever the Pug loves ther most.
