my itchy wired hair mixe terrier

we adopted het about3 years ago from the local human society but for about a year now she bites her back till her hairis gone and sores on her also her feet took her to the vet he said he skin is very dry so we tried differnt things well it is at it worst he also said it could be from some abuse before we adopted her so please if you have any advise i would greatly use it

Feed a decent chow and as little else as possible, seldom if ever bathe the dog, and brush it daily with a soft bristled brush.  You might add a teaspoon a day of liquid cooking oil to its food.  

Avoid overweight.  It can cause skin problems too.  Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest.
You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them.  Each dog is
different.  Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog
