Question
hi,
i was attacked by a dog, which i raised i was shocked, i was attacked for no reason, why did she do this most people say she wanted to be the dominant dog out of the litter, she was about to be 2 yrs old, she attacked my little puppy which was a runt she has tried to kill all the puppies, when she attacked me she got my forearm and tore my arm up, she is a pit bull,am i wrong for being afraid of dogs to a certain degree now, she was put to sleep

Answer
Because Pit Bulls have such strong jaws, and such strong wills, they require a more specialized training.
I don't believe in the "born bad dog". They are that way because of the way they are raised or trained.
I am saying NOT you were abusive to her or taught her to behave this way, but maybe you were not aggressive enough with her training.
Pit bulls can be just as sweet a family pet as any other bred, but like a strong willed child, they need a little tighter rein in their training.
The killing,,,
Was this litters she had that she tried to kill, or other dogs you have brought there?
Dogs can have emotional problems like people can.
Animal massage to cure aggressiveness would most likely have stopped this behavior. I have used it to cure some very aggressive behavior.
Don't let this make you afraid of all dogs, or of all Pit bulls.
Dogs are just four legged people.
They know if people are good and mean them no harm, or if they are bad and do mean harm. dogs know more about you than you know about yourself.
They also know if you are a pushover and what they can get away with.
Dogs live in a pack . This works the same as our family system. There is an alpha and a beta ( mom and dad) and the pack members ( the children).
Some parents are easy, and the kids get away with anything. Some parents take no foolishness, and the kids learn to behave. The parents don't have to be abusive or beat their children, but they have to stand up to the kids, and make them learn the best way to behave.Be firm.
This is the same when you are raising animals. YOU have to be the alpha, or one of them will be.
I am the alpha in my home. Old dad is the pushover, but I make them behave. I use time out to punish my dogs, just as I did my children when they were very small.
You can't make a dog stand in the corner ( well, you COULD teach them to do it, but time out is easier). I use our small hall bathroom. There is a 5'X5' space for them. No toys, nothing to do but lie on the bathmat and hear all the stuff going on they are missing out on.
They HATE time out, and when one starts to act up, all I have to do is say "Do you want to go to time out?" and they straighten right up and behave.
I use a method of animal massage. It is the Tellington Touch method. You can relieve pain, cure fear of thunderstorms, aggressiveness, a lot of things. Some dogs are more nervous and high strung. a calming massage works wonders to alieviate this. They they are easier to train, and it's easier to maintain the good behavior.
She tore your arm up because Pit Bulls have much stronger jaws, and when they bite they just do more damage with less effort that some other breeds.
If you are going to raise Pit bulls, I would recommend you get a video and learn to do this massage. It is easy to learn. On the video, you see hands doing the massages, and you learn exactly how to do it. Actually, everyone that is going to own an animal should learn these massages. There are so many ways to make raising an animal easier with it.
Go to this website, read about the massages. You can get videos for other animals as well.

One dog bite doesn't make  the whole species bad.
