Spay surgery and shedding

Question
I recently got a 2 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi and had her spayed.  When I first got her she was shedding a normal amound of hair.  Since the surgery, she is shedding profusely.  Is she blowing her coat and is this caused by the spay surgery?  I know that Corgis do shed but I thought they had 2 heavy shed periods a year and light shedding the rest of the time.
Thanks in advance!

Answer
The corgis I have seen seem to shed a LOT, but then I have schnauzers who shed minimally<G>.

I suspect the extra shedding you are seeing is due to the anesthesia from the surgery. It has been known to ruin showcoats on stripped schnauzers. Just give her a bit of extra brushing and she should soon be back to normal.
