dog tail problem

Our dog Angel is ~7 years old and is a mixed breed. A couple months ago she all of a sudden had her tail down and kept it down, even when behaviorly it should have been up.  We took her into the vet and he said that one of her anal glands was full and possibly infected. He went in and got some stuff out. This has happened twice since and when he goes in there hasnt been that much that comes out. Is this really the cause of the down tail in your opinion, or could it be something else?

Hi Jennifer,  A lot of times a dog will have an anal sac that continuosly gets infected, and if that is the case, you might want to consider getting it removed.  If her tail is going back up after the sac is expressed, then that is probably the problem.  Hope this helps,
