dogs for tropical countries

Question
i live in the Philippines which is a tropical/ hot country. i want to know if a St. Bernard can easily adapt to our climate.
If not then what dogs are best suited for a climate such as ours.

Answer
I personally do not think a St Bernard would be a wise choice for a tropical climate. They are big dogs with a thick coat and I do not imagine they would cope too well in the heat.
Breeds to stay away from are brachycephalic breeds, these are the breeds with pushed in noses like pugs, bulldogs and boxers.
I would recommend anything with a very short smooth coat such as a german shorthaired pointer, weimaraner, doberman etc.
here is a useful website i found
