aggressive chihuahua with her mate

Hi, I have a 2 year old chihuahua that had 4 puppies 2 days ago. She will allow us to pet her and the puppies but she is very aggressive towards my other male Chihuahua who is also the "daddy". I was wondering if she will get over it and will once again be his friendly companion?

I think it can be fairly common for mothers to be protective of their puppies, even with the father of the pups.
