Question
mde and my wife have gotten a german sheppard pug mix (shug) and she is great. But we are have a time with her biting. I know that she is play biting and does not bare down hard (most of the time) and we want to nip this out now for fear of it getting worse. We have been told to give a stiff jerk on the collar and say "no bite" at the same time. It worked for about two days. Now we are making a loud claping noise and saying no bite at the same time, and this only works sometimes. Also are starting to have a time with her wanting to jump on us and our little girl(9 yrs). Mercedes (the shug) is 9 weeks old and has alot of chew toys and is for the most part really good. Does not use bathroom in the house unless we were not paying attention and did not see the signs of her needing to go out. She sits when told unless is is in her hyper mood and wants to play. Please help, I would like her to stop the biting and jumping and I do not want to cause any harm to her. Thank you for your time.

Answer
It will help to take her to puppy classes,as that does put you in the alpha spot and will get the dog to respect you, also a trainer can help you with any problems you are having

Also something that works is to use a water bottle and spray the dog and say 'no' loud and firm
