dog hacking

Question
My dog is a Terrier Chihuahua she is 6 years old and a female she is spayed. On some occasions she gets like this hacking thing going on it lasts 2 to 3 minutes its sound like she has to puke but she doesn't. She also licks her paws alot and always seems to have to lick someones leg, or arm. Could this be why she is doing this? It scares me how she does this i don't want to lose her  so PLEASE HELP HER.

Hello, Sounds just like reverse sneezing common to chihuahuas, boston terriers/pugs/bull dogs and even other breeds of dogs have short bouts of this.  Type reverse sneezing into your serch engine and see if you think the syptoms match up. My boston terrier has this probelsm she will freeze still loook deadly frightened so I always go pick her up until shes done...she will then start what sounds more lik reverse snorting or snoring and then it will stop for a few second she will start to relaxe and it happens again....she was really bad for it in the late winter thank goodness she doesnt have this that abd all teh time she would go nuts.
