Question
Dawn,

I have a 7 year old boxer that just began gringing his teeth.  He has been to the vet twice over the past two weeks, and they thought it might be a gastroentestinal problem and prescribed an antacid, then they thought it might be  an inflamatory issue and prescribed an anti-inflammatory, which still hasn't helped.  Next they will put him under, clean his teeth and x-ray his jaw to see if anything is out of line, is this necessary or is there some other underlying cause?

Thanks

Answer
Hi, I think the x-raying of the jaw is the most logical thing to do.  He could have some teeth not lining up, or something else going on with the jaw line.  The next thing I would go with is something neurological causing the teeth grinding.  Hope this helps,

Dawn
