Question
MY DOG IS 7 MONTHS OLD AND HAS BEEN A GREAT FAMILY MEMBER. JUST RECENTLY HIS BEHAIVOR HAS CHANGED LIKE SNAPPING WHEN YOU GET NEAR HIS FOOD AND I CAN'T EVEN WALK HIM NOW BECAUSE HE TRYS TO WALK ME.  HE HAS BEEN GREAT BUT I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE BACK THE CONTROL I HAD.  I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW I LOST IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Answer
Hi Michael;
One sure way to fix it.
Get into a group obedience class.
Petsmart and Petco stores have weekend obedience classes, that are group classes, taught by a trainer, and you work your dog.
When I was training, I much preferred to teach a group class, because the owner and dog bond closer, and the dog klearns for SURE who is the alpha.
He is just being a typical teenager, trying to boss the whole family. LOl
Gotta nip it in the bud when you see the makings of a delinquent.LOl
Those classes are fun too, for the handler AND the dog.
The rest of the family can come and watch, and they see how to give the commands and handle him properly on a leash.
Dogs are just like raising kids.
Either you are the oparent, or they will rule.
they will go as far as they are allowed to.
Man's Best friend has businesses all over the country too, and some Humane society chapters have them.
Check around and get into a class as soon as possible.
In just a few weeks you will see your little brat turned into an obedient child again.
