MINI SNAUZCHER IN HEAT FIRST TIME

Yes, my puppy went into heat for the first time. I have an older male dog. Things were fine for almost three weeks. until her last 3 days of it. She was wearing a diaper and a onesie. The male dog jumped her and got her diaper and onsesie soaked with (his stuff). She has been over being in heat for about three weeks. How long does it takes for her nipples and vulva to stop being swollen. Or is their a chance she could be pregnant from the sooaked diaper and onesie. Clueless,,,,, michelle

It is unlikely that she is pregnant, but one should never say never; boy dogs and sperm are pretty good at getting where they want to go. Dogs do not have to tie to conceive.

The dogs need to either be neutered or kept completely separated during the time the bitch is in season to prevent conception.

Now that she has been in season, her nipples and vulva will be larger than they were before; this is perfectly normal and part of her physical development.
