Question
Hi Ashley I am considering purchasing a lhasa poo and am just curious what you could tell me about their temperment, ability to be trained, and anything else you think may be important to know. I appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks

In my opinion, the temperament of a dog is determined more by that individual dog's character, as well as the training and socialization they receive as a young puppy. There are a lot of breed stereotypes out there, and I don't buy into many of them. I adopted a Rottweiler puppy who has grown into the sweetest, most affectionate dog I've ever had. There are no 'bad breeds', just irresponsible and uneducated owners. You are already on the right track to being a great dog owner by wanting to educate yourself on the puppy you are about to buy.

The 'Lhasa Poo' isn't going to really have any breed specific traits, because its not a breed. It's a mixed breed. By researching Lhasa Apsos and Poodles, you'll get an idea of what the dog would be like. I linked you to some sites that should help you below.

Additionally, I provided some links regarding adopting. If you are looking for your next family member, a wonderful place to start is in shelters. There are millions of perfectly good pets already waiting for homes across America. All 3 of my dogs are rescues and they are all sweet, intelligent, and extensively trained. You should also visit www.petfinder.com, where you can search for rescue dogs by location, the age of dog you are looking for, and the breed you want (you could probably search for Lhasa Poos). It will provide search results with a picture of each dog and information about their history and temperament.
