Red Bumps on our Jack Russell Terrier

We have a 2year old jack russell terrier. She just broke out in raised red bumps all over the upper part of her body but not on her belly. They itch her really bad. What could cause this?

Hi Clint,

There are many MANY things which could cause itchy red bumps to break out on your dog. It could be anything from a flea bites, to a contact allergy, mange, or hormonal disease... or maybe a hundred other possibilities.

You need to have your dog examined by your vet. Please do it sooner, rather than later. If your dog is doing a lot of itching or chewing, there's a chance for her to develop a secondary skin infection.
