Scabs on the neck from playing

Question
Hi, Shawn

My name is Sakura. I have 2 years old rottie-shepard mix. She loves wrestling with other dogs, and we took her to camping last weekend with another big dog. They were playing all day constantly. Yesterday I was petting her and realized she has got scabs on her neck and I think it is from playing. It looks like the wound is not wet but some hair is caked up. It is deep in the hair and I cannot really see it and I am not sure if it is infected. Last time she's got bit by another dog, she had worse one and we took her to vet, they shaved her hair and clean it. Since it costed fortune to take her to the vet, I am wondering if there is any way that I can clean her scab. It is about a quarter size and she has 2-3 spots. Would it be ok to shave her hair and clean it with 3% hydrogen peroxide solution and use antibiotic cream? Please give me advice!

I would definitely shave it and take a look. If it doesnt appear raised, red, tender, or inflammed, I would douse it with hydrogen peroxide and use some antibiotic topical. if you notice it is red and seems inflammed, I would take a wet paper towel with hydrogen peroxide on it, and gentle squeeze the wound, manipulating the scab off (Dont just rip it off). Get a good look at the wound, and if it looks like a deep puncture or a long rip, or if there seems to be a lot of puss when you gently squeeze it, its time for a vet. Otherwise, daily cleaning and applications of antibiotic creme will be just fine.
