Dog Whiskers

I have a 5 month old Maltese. Is it ok to cut her whiskers and keep her facial hair short?

Answer
Oh yes, if you like the style of a very short little face, (we call it a fox face, but that is not an official style name) then by all means do so!
It will keep her long facial hair out of the food and water, and more importantly, out of her mouth.

If you find a good groomer, they can actually clip the lip line and leave the facial hair so that you can have a look of the Maltese, but it is just important that the lip line be clean, if you choose to take off the whiskers and muzzle hair it is simply a personal choice.
I bet she is just as cute as can be either way.  I just love a nice Maltese.
