A Dog Like Hickory

In February, I watched the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.  I was wondering how do you groom a dog like Hickory, the Best in Show winner.

A good question to ask if you are considering this breed as a pet. While they don't look like they need much grooming they actually have very specific requirements- besides loads of brushing and combing, when the hair needs cutting it is plucked and raked out- should never be clippered. It is an art that is mostly taught by apprenticeship. Hand done, it requires each hair to plucked to include the root- like eyebrows. This particular breed releases fairly easily- which means they are shedders as well which is why they need so much brushing and combing to remove the loose hair. A bath requires a lot of space and a hose!
