Question
I am desperate to find a groomer able to cut a Bichon to look like a Bichon not a Poodle.  Do you know of such a person within 200 miles of Montgomery, AL?

Answer
This is a funny question. Ask yourself, How come you can't find someone in a major metropolitan center - this is relative  of course- who knows how to set a Bichon pattern???
What are you willing to pay? (you get what you pay for)
How often are you having the dog groomed? ( should be at LEAST every 4 weeks. Good grooming to get the desired look you are looking for is every 1-2 weeks)
What are you doing in between visits to the groomers? ( is the dog matted- realistically you can't torture a dog so you shave them short)
Those are the major reasons you can't get what you are looking for.
Other than that - find a breeder who will trim your pet for you- maybe even a
:professional handler.
Bichons are all about consistency. That said, you may have to learn yourself! Look up the grooming on line and see what you can do. Even if you can't do it all this a good bonding tool for you and your dog.
Look for dog shows and seek out the trade there.
Good luck
