9 mo old puppy licks EVERYTHING

Our puppy licks our bedding, the carpet, our pillows, etc!  Why and what can we do to stop it?

Shih Tzu are lickers! funny little fur babies. They lick for love, they lick for scent of where you are, where you've been, the remains of food, etc.  You may not realize what has been left imprinted on some of the objects in your home but their short stubby nose flat on their face picks up everything.  You can try diversion tactics when you see the puppy starting to lick where you don't want say NO or ENOUGH and give him another toy to play with or a treat or take him for a walk.  Puppies and Tzu in general enjoy exercise and walking and when they get bored they get into things so keep the puppy occupied or the puppy will find ways to occupy itself that you may not like.  The other licking behavior is one of affection and you should allow the puppy to lick but only to the extent that You want and than say Enough and send the puppy to play.  Hope this helps
