new owner of dog - shih tzu adoption;

We're getting a 3 year old shih tzu tomorrow. We have never been owners of a dog before and would like to know what kind of dog food i can feed him? how often to feed him and also how much that I can feed him per day? if you have the answer to this can you please help? Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Kelli, Well good for you!  This little shih tzu will be lucky to have you!
You should find out what he is currently eating for food.  You can change the food slowly over time.  
Too quick of a food change = LOOSE poops.
You will feed this dog 1-2 x per day....
The amount will be 3/4 cup of food 2 x per day or 1/2 a cup 2 x per day..... depends on how big this doggie kid is.
