Question
Marie, you sent me an answer about my itching, fur falling out, licking (hind quarters) 3yr old female Shih Tzu.  You asked if I changed her food, yes we did.  We changed to Ceasers hard adult food.  You asked about seeing fleas?  I haven't seen anything, and often look, but I could be missing something..(any tips on locating this pests?).  And no we haven't done any flea treatment on our girl.  Please advise on these areas, as we really feel for the girl.  These are the questions that you asked back to me, and I sure hope they are helpful for her.  I will try the Activa Yogurt challenge on her, if you think this may help her, as we'll do anything for our baby girl.  Also I failed to mention that when I stroke her back end, I feel her skin tighten up, is there a reason for this.  It happens whenever I touch her back end, and the leg goes crazy...you know when the human scratches them?

Answer
Hi again Janet,  Yes, do the Activia yogurt for this gal...She may have too much yeast in her blood, skin and even gut.  I also want you to put her on a GRAIN free food -  I don't believe Ceaser is grain-free..
I like Innova EVO or Merrick Before Grain foods.  The pet store worker should be able to show you the Grain-free foods they carry.

As for fleas, use the Natural Defense - monthly spot treatment.... Natural and safe...low cost, too.  Can be found at Walmart and other stores such as Target.
Even if you don't see fleas, if the weather is over 40 degrees, fleas can be around.

BEST of luck
