My shih tzu has tried to use the bathroom the past two days but nothing comes out.  Her feces gets stuck but never falls out.

she sounds a bit constipated, you can try giving her a little soap suds enema.  Have you changed her food lately?  Make sure she is getting plenty of fluids and is not dehydrated.  Give her some pedialyte after the enema and feed her some soft bland food or even some chicken broth.  If she has to strain too much she will pucker out and need to go to the vet.  You can purchase at CVS or Walmart a childs fleets rectal enema as well to give her.  If she does not produce a bowel movement then take her to the vet immediately.  Hope this helps
