Pet shih-tzu is urinating coke colored urine

We have recently gained ownership of a female 2 year old shih-tzu. According to the previous owner she has had one litter and comes from a line that has not demonstrated any genetic renal diseases. As a puppy, the dog was given ibuprofen often whenever the dog was sick. Anyway, when we first got her, she seemed very healthy. However after 3 weeks she suddenly started urinating dark, coke colored urine without any smell. There is no change in temperament or activity but we are alarmed. Could it be some kind of renal disease? Internet research seems to indicate so, and if it is, is there a way to prolong the dog's life?

Hello Ronald, I am sorry but this doesn't sound good to me.
Please take the dog to the vet.  This does sound like possible renal failure related to the Ibuprofen usage.
Ibuprofen should not be used in pets, if possible.
( baby aspirin would have been a better choice)
