Mixing breed

I have been offered a 9 week Shih Tzu and Chihuahua mix.  Do you have any insight on this mix?

Also, any hints on how to potty train?

I really don't have any insight to the mix breeds.  I was able to find that their is a breed ShiChi recognized by the ACHC American Canine Hybrid Club.  You can look at each breed "shih tzu" and "Chihuahua" and consider that the puppy will take on some of each of the traits.  Depending on the breeder and how it was bred they should be able to tell you more about the characteristics.  Also check out http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/shichi.htm (some info and pictures of shichis) My main concern would be that with the genetic health problems that both breeds have and combining them together you may have major problems on your hands if the breeder has not tested the parents involved very well before breeding then BEWARE!  You could be in for major expenses as well as a big heartbreak before all is said and done.  As for potty training tips.. consistency and patience are the key.  Take up the food and water by PM, potty after every meal, upon waking up in the am, and after naps and before bedding down at night, keep in small area until learns the routine and don't give run of the house until housebroken.
