heat

my 16 month old shih-tzu has never had her first heat. is that normal? could there be something wrong with her?

Answer
My little Maltese did not come into season "heat" until about that age.  Give it a little more time.
You can have the Vet do a check on her blood hormone levels is you are worried...
I know some of the smaller sized dogs are late bloomers.
