I've read that shih tzu's don't shed. Is this true?

It is true that they do not shed per say as most long coated dogs tend to do, you will however in normal grooming if keeping them in long coats find some hair in the brush or occasionally laying around just as you do your own hair.  Shih Tzu's hair is like that of human hair more than that of other dog hair and that is why you will find that we tend to use allot of human hair products on them rather than animal products.  If you keep your shih tzu coat short than you will find less or no shedding at all they tend to have more problems with drying skin because people over bathe them and dry out the skin and do not allow the skin to retain its body oils so do be careful and stay away from products containing allot of alcohol.  Hope this helps.
