puppy just gave birth

my puppy just gave birth on dec. 07,2007, she had 2 puppies, and one female and the second is a male, one of the puppy was sick and it was the male puppy, his palette wasnt close and couldnt drink any milk so we let him go, we had to euthanise it..and the female she is healthy and the puppy is now 9 days old, my question is when can the baby puppy open her eyes and when can the mommy get heat?

How old is the female that you just bred?  When have her heat cycles been running (every 6 months, 9 months?) She will come back into heat on her regular schedule from the date of her last heat cycle to the next so if she came into heat in December and she has a 6 month heat cycle she will come into heat in June (example).  The baby will open its eyes within 2 weeks.  As for the puppy with the cleft problem make sure you don't repeat the breeding with the same pair or you will continue to get that problem.  Hope this helps.
