shih tzu getting black spots

Question
my 6 month old male shih tzu started getting black spots all over his body. it started out small and just on his tummy but now the black spots have gotten bigger and have spread to different parts of his body. what do you think this could be?

It could be that he is getting in his pigment.  Where the spots red before turning black? did the just suddenly appear?  are they raised?  is he itching or scratching them? do they ooze?  if any of these things are occurring take him to a vet to have them checked for skin disease or infection or allergy and get started on medication.  Hope this helps.
