barking and sleeping at night

Question
We got our puppy shih tzu last Monday. From the very first night, he would sleep in his bed all night, not barking for me to get up until morning. The last two nights he has barked me awake twice and I've had to put him in bed with me. Any advice?

Hi Tracey:  Oh Boy!  In Mom's bed!  That's what this little one wanted you to do.  I do undersand you need your sleep, but now he knows you will put him in the bed with you.  

Not too much you can do now except have a puppy bed buddy!
You can try to re-crate train him.  Not easy to do now that he loves the bed with momma.

You can take the question over to our Behavior Experts, they may have some good ideas for you.  Give them full details on the age of your baby and if he was in a crate bed or just doggie bedding.
Tell them you did put him in the bed with you.
See what they come up with.
