muscle spams in maltese;

Question
My 1 year old shih tuz/Malteese holds his front right leg/paw up and then falls over.  I rub his leg and in about 1 minute he is ok.
His appetite could be better.
He just had his vaccinations and had a allergic reaction to them.
He had his rabies, bortella heart worm test done.

The vet gave us cortisone for his muscle spasams and medicine to help his appetite.

Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Fran, Are you sure it is not a luxating patella ( trick knee)???
Can you tell me how long this ? spasm has been going on?
What was the reaction your baby had to the vaccinations.
Just need more info.
Also, what food is your little one eating?
