Smell?

Question
Hi there, We have a German shepherd X Husky Dog (Jess) already (2 years old and a rescue dog - had her 18 months) and after reading up and researching facts my partner and i went out and bought another dog - a pure breed Sib Husky (we have only had him - Storm - for a week and he is only 2 months old) I know it is early days but there is something that is really bugging me and i can not find the answer any where. Please bare with me while i explain the problem.

Our dog - Jess - will not come down stairs and stay in any one room long - the only room that Storm has not been in is the spare room - where jess has made her bed.

We took the 'family' to see my parents and now their dog (Roscoe - a Collie X) will not go any where, where Storm has been - including the garden.

Is Storm leaving a smell that only dogs can smell? How do we get rid of this smell as Jess is staying upstairs in the spare room all day? Storm wants to play with her all the time and she just wants to chill - but will play with him for a while. Her tail use to be up and seemed happy. but now it is very hard for us to see our baby girl looking so down and depressed with her tail between her legs. She is a very nervous dog when we first got her - as she was beaten as a pup. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE could you offer me advice?  we live in the UK near London and now that Storm has had all his vacs he is able to go out on long walks around the fields near us.

Thanks Steve

Answer
I don't know if it is a smell... never heard of that before I just think the pup is somehow leaving a strong message that this is mine....but the way you discribe the pup it doesn't sound like it. Maybe the older dogs do not want anything to do with the pup?? I know some older dogs will do just about anything to avoid pups. I am sorry I cannot offer anymore help. I highly suggest you hire a trainer who can come in the house to help you. That way you can have someone observe the body language. I know you have a show called "It's me or the dog." or something like that. You could write them for help. I have wached the show they do a great job.
