Question
I have just bought 2 great dane puppies that are 10 week's old, and we have a mini dachshund. I was wondering if they will both gang up on the dachshund at some time? The dashi is aggressive towards them both. protective of everything that is her's. The dachshund is a female to, and i have herd that the great danes are aggressive toward's the same sex usually.

Answer
Jess,

It really depends on the dogs. If both of the Danes are female I would be more worried about the two of them becoming aggressive towards each other. And I would be worried about them hurting/killing her. Having three females in the house, two of which will be over 100 lbs and a dog under 20 lbs is a very iffy situation. Just make sure that you do training with the Danes, it is a must, otherwise you will have a VERY difficult time with them once they are older. I have too many people that come on here once their dog is 9 months old and completely out of control and they ask me what they are supposed to do. I tell them to begin training IMMEDIATELY, because they should have done that months ago to begin with. As for your Doxie, keep an eye on her too so that she does not act out. If she becomes possessive or aggressive towards the puppies give her a time out, put her in a crate or lock her away from them until she calms down and behaves the way she should.

If you have any other questions please let me know.
