Continuous diarrhea

Question
Hi there,

I have a 4 month-old GD.  When I got him I fed him Vet's Choice.  We got a sample pack of Hills, which he really liked so I switched him over to the Hills.  For the first few days he had a bit of diarrhea, but it went away.  Then about two weeks ago he got diarrhea again.

I took him to the vet who inspected him and found nothing wrong.  The vet prescribed a probiotic that I add to his food in the morning.  This worked for a few days, but the diarrhea is back again.  He is perfectly fine, he is not dehydrated or anything, but his tummy is runny.  As far as I can determine, he is no longer eating plants or anything.  I am still giving the probiotic in the morning.

He has had all his shots.

Please note that I live in South Africa.

Thank you.

Answer
Marick,
Have you tried to put your puppy on a bland diet? Try 5 days of boiled chicken and brown rice. This will help reset his system. After that rry putting him back on the Hill's. If that still didn't work, you might just have to try a different type of food. Some dogs just cannot digest a food after a while. As long as he has been checked out for worms then it is something that just might be a diet problem.
Hope this helps!
