Question
QUESTION: I have a 1 yr old blue merle dane, his food is a giant breed, and the kibble is huge, we want to change him off it cuz its really expensive, but he wont eat any food that is smaller then what he has now. is this normal? is there a giant kibble for dogs that is less then $50?

ANSWER: So you want to put him onto a cheaper food but that is still a high quality correct? I hope you understand that nutrition in Great Danes is VERY important, if you decide to downgrade to a low quality food, you could put your dog in the position for health problems later on in life. What are you looking to spend? Where are you located so that I can research what other good foods are available in your area?

QUESTION: Well we found out that the food we r giving him is actually 28 protein its Royal Canine 28 we didnt realize it had so much, and the store said that it would be okay for him. Anyway we just dont want to pay $50 every 2 weeks maybe 30-40 would be better. We live in the upper michigan Calumet to be exact. we have one store called ericksons feed and seed that has none generic brands of dog food. Thanks for the help!!

Answer
This food is my personal favorite:

www.thepetpantrync.com

They have holistic food that is cheaper then what you are paying now, and yes 28% is WAY too much for a Dane, he needs to be at no more then 24-25% max. They can send you a sample, this food cannot be purchased in stores, but they have a flat rate delivery fee and the more you buy at one time, the less you will spend.

If that is not an option, as far as having food delivered and you would rather buy, let me know and I can send you some more foods you can buy in store...
