Question
we just bought a purebred 8 week old pom and im not to sure what to give her to eat or when i should introduce other food at the moment she is eating dried biscuits called brain food.

Answer
Depending on the size and the heritage it got from its parents and grandparents you will want to watch out for hypoglycemia-low blood sugar.
Any high end puppy food would be good.  Buy from a pet store or vet.  Make sure the FIRST ingredient is a meat-not meat by product or any kind of grain.  Dogs are carnivors and your dog food should be mostly made of meat.  For treats and training you can use small hunks of cheese or boiled chicken or boiled liver.  A lot of store bought treats are really high in sugar and yucky stuff that can cause the runs.
You can supplament occasionally with yogurt or cottage cheese.  Make sure that your pup gets to eat as much as it wants for the first 6-8 months at least.  After a year you should be able to feed 1-2 times a day as your vet recomends.

You can find tons of Pom info on my links page.
