Partially torn CCL

Question
QUESTION: Hi! My sweet 3 yr old female bulldog tore her ccl(don't think its fully torn) about 10 weeks ago. My vet recommended conservative treatment to see if it would heal on its own before considering surgery. I love my vet. She lost muscle tone but now is getting it back and walking better and even sprinting. It looks as if she is sore at times but she puts weight on it now and ONLY limps for second after sleeping or sitting too long. I decided to go to a specialist to just see what my options were and they recommended the TPLO surgery but said no rush. I don't trust them at all. I believe they are money mongers. In fact, a dog's owner whispered to me in that office that he had wished he had NEVER decided on surgery for his dog(also the TPLO). I've done tons and tons of research on the different surgeries and if you should really have it. Now I'm thinking she SHOULD NOT have it as she is healing. I don't want to risk the complications of such an invasive surgery. If she DOES need it after a while, I will go with my own talented vet and do the TTA or the other one(can't remember). I am giving her Dr. Foster's & Smith joint healing supplements and feeding her just a tad of extra amino acid protein per day and working her leg in small walks to build muscle. She only eats human grade all natural food. What would you do? Am I doing things right? I'm so scared for her and I think surgery would do her more harm and pain AND even cause her to tear her OTHER CCL since she wouldn't be able to use the hurt leg. If she couldn't walk at all, I would do it.HELP!!! :) Oh, I also got her to lose 6 lbs so she is at a good weight now.

ANSWER: Hi Tracy:  I understand your concerns ...  I don't like to see dogs go thru this surgery unless there is NO other choice... Many times the area will heal up just fine!  ( as you know)....  Many vets do not want you to know this - non surgical option... Sounds like you have an Excellent VET!  Stick with your vet and don't use that specialist.... like you noticed, they just seem to like cutting...

Sounds like you are doing well with the food choices.  I would make a change on your supplement.... Take your pal off the Dr. Foster's and Smith and go to NuVET Plus and NuJoint Plus
Human GRADE and Excellent..... Many breeders and VETs refer to NuVET products..
here is a link to my site:

**NuVET is not found in stores... You order direct from the company and avoid the Middle Man - avoid the pet store
You can call my boss Joan at ext 265....

She can explain our Money Back Guarantee and help you with the first order.

Also, you may want to offer 1/2 cup of Holistic/Natural Cottage Cheese each day.

BEST wishes on all

QUESTION: Hi Marie! I went to your site and I love it! What a nice service you are providing. I emailed you on your email listed there with pics of my bullies. Sophie is the one you're helping. I wanted to let you know I emailed you in case my email went into your junk/bulk folder because 4 pics were attached. We'll keep in touch with Sophie's progress. She's a doll. Oh, by the way, is the bullie on your page yours??? SOOOOOOOO ADORABLE! All the pups are. Sounds like the NuVet Joint treatment is good. I ordered the wrong one by mistake-emailed you about it and called Joan to see if it could get switched. DOIEE What is required to volunteer to give advice as an "expert" on this site? If they need more help. I'm very knowledgable on bulldogs/cats/medical stuff etc.. and would be happy to refer them to you for your product? What do you think? Awesome supplements.
Thanks again!!!

Answer
Hi Again:  Yes, your bullies came thru on my site... They look Wonderful... The bullies on my Doggie Hotel Page are some of my hotel guests... I get many bulldogs, english bulls, french bulls, and american bulls..... all kids.
We mostly cater to smaller sized guests... I do take a few at a time that are over 50 lbs...

As for the NuVET Plus and NuJOINT - this company is wonderful and it is all HUMAN GRADE.... made in an FDA quality facility.  We have to be so careful how and where products are made in this day and age!!!!
I feel so confident with NuVET Plus and the Money BACK guarantee, too.

Now, as for helping on this site... YES, YES,  fill out the application to help us.  We need people that are certified but also would love to have bullie helpers who are experienced with the breed.  In your profile, just let them know what kinds of questions you can help with... They will let you know if a day or two if you are accepted.  If they don't accept you.... it is because you don't have enough background...  ( also, we don't get any pay for this service...)  ***You can mention if you are a breeder, kennel, consultant for pets, vet tech....

I wish you luck with our product....

NuVET Plus and NuJOINT

Please let me know how it all goes for your kids...
