Question
luna my 10 week old British bulldog was on antibiotics when i bought her and the vet said she has water on her chest. since i took her home and gave her lots of rest she has became much better as i was also using nzymes oxy drops.she doesn't vomit and is never out of breath and her diet is fine, in fact she is a very active lovely puppy, it stills worries me that when she gets a little hyper you can hear a flemmy type noise from her throat then she coughs and she is ok.
has anyone got any advice to clear this.
thanks

Answer
You need to be extremely careful that this puppy recovers completely and doesn't contract a cold or infection. Once they have upper respiratory infections they reoccur often. It may take weeks before she's over the flemmy noise in her throat.

It's good that she can cough up the gunk. When she gets a little older, get a squeezy lemon at the grocery store. When she sounds particularly flemmy, give her a smalls squirt of lemon and it will clear it out. Just put the lemon in the corner of her mouth and squirt toward the back of her throat. She'll hate it but it works.

Even if she's feeling fine, eating and playing, don't let her play too hard and get exhausted until this has totally cleared up.
