Old dog and warts

Question
I have a 16 year old Pomeranian mix. 3 years ago I had 3 warts removed. He now has 4 more warts. My vet says I might not want to put him through the stress of having the warts removed. Should I get the warts removed?

Answer
Hello Dean -

Given the age of your dog, I would be concerned about another surgery, even if your pet is in good health. Any type of surgery will put stress on animal, especially if anesthesia is administered.

Having the warts removed depends on the warts themselves. If a biopsy has been taken and they prove cancerous you may want to consider the surgery. There are however, many natural ways to treat cancer naturally.

My best suggestion is to have the warts tested, if they come back as non-cancerous, I would let them be. Feel free to contact me again if the warts are cancerous, I would be happy to give you suggestions to help you heal and comfort your pet naturally.

I hope this information has helped you and your pet.
