Itchy French bulldog NuVET and Probiotics;

My 2 yr old French Bulldog suffers miserably with itchy belly, chest, armpits, groin area and chin. He has red, raised bumps all of those places, except chin. He had the yeast smell awhile back too, but that's mostly gone.  He will scratch and lick almost constantly. I feed Wellness CORE...(thought grain free might help) along with Natures Variety Raw Frozen Chicken or Beef. We ruled out food allergies using Science Diet Z/D...it didn't help. I am thinking of trying Science Diet Sensitive Skin next... I also have him on Extra Strength Derm Caps ES and use ShowStopper All-In-One Coat and Body Optimizer. I can't imagine him not getting enough Omegas, DHA etc.  Will NuVet really work on this poor little guy.  Oh, he weighs about 28 pounds.  I bathe him weekly and have used Derm Magic Shampoo and Lotion, both of which use Tea Tree Oil.  He also sheds horribly.  I give him 50 mg Diphenhydramine twice daily and it makes very little difference. Some days are better than others.

Paula - OH boy!!! Yes, I need to help you two kids.  So sad... Please don't try the Science Diet Sensitive Skin formula - Awful stuff...

MOST dogs take 1 NuVET wafer per day but your little one is a very POOR case so I would like to see you start off on 1 1/2 and after a month go down to just 1 per day.

NEXT ----
PLEASE don't use the Show Stopper or the Derm Magic Shampoo and lotion:  

I would like to see you use the Tea Tree oil / hot spot shampoo from the NuVET folks - and ONLY use this every 10 days for a bath.  ( about 10.00 per bottle)

**In between baths: you can use a Foam WATERLESS shampoo - I like Miracle Coat- I use baby wipes and a dash of the foam Miracle Coat for quick little clean ups.


Last - HOW about 1 Billion CFUs of Acidophalus per day ( just hide this tablet in some cheese or WET dog food)  This will get to balance out the excess Yeast Bacteria...
