Puppy Nerves and Drooling

Question
Hello,
I have 13 week old Husky that drools excessively when she is in her crate at night and while we're out during the day (we're potty training right now, which is why she is put up at night) She is fine when she is out with us, so I think her main problem is nerves from being away from us. Is there any home remedy we can give her to help calm her nerves while she's not with us? Someone recommended a milk, egg white, and sugar mixture to help calm her, but I can't find any other information about this mixture. Would this really help or not?

Answer
HI LeEllen,
It does sound like puppy nerves.  It is a big world out there and many things can seem frightening when a pup first sees, hears or feels something unfamiliar.
I just want to comment on the remedy you were recommended - I would NEVER give an animal sugar.  Also, I do not see how sugar can calm anyone down.  It actually is quite the opposite.
PetAlive (www.petalive.com) have some great all natural puppy soothing formulas.
Also, www.onlynaturalpet.com have flower essences and other natural remedies that work really well on emotional issues such as puppy stress and anxiety.
I would certainly look at something from either of these website.
Take care,
Silva.
