Cavalier Heart issue

Question
Hi Marie
Thanks for reading my queston.  We recently purchased a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is now 5 months old.  She was diagnoised with a level 1 heart murmur the week before we picked her up! (we had picked her out at 5 weeks and had formed an attachment to her..the breeder told us we could have another littermate, but she..the puppy.. already knew her name and my kids were in love with her) We went into puppyhood knowing that we were getting a puppy with an issue. Unfortunately we got her echocardiogram results back last week and she has been diagnoised with a hole in the lower chamers of her heart, as well pulmonic stenosis where the blood vessels to her lungs are too small.  The vet has no idea what her life span will be, she said she could start to fail in a few months and be gone in a year, or live to be 10..they just don't know.  I live an organic and very healthy lifestyle as does my family.  I'd like to pass this on to our dog too.  Emma (our puppy) is on an organic raw food diet, gets a daily 20 min. walk (nothing too stressful!!) and NO junk food at all!  I was wondering if you would have any recommendations for any supplements to help the heart.  I know nothing will heal her issues, but if there is some sort of herb or supplement we could give her to help her heart be a little stronger or aleviate the stress the heart is under, and give her good quality of life until her heart decides to stop working.  Ironically, the vet said her Mitro valves (which very often are the issues in a Cavalier) look great.  Her heart was just formed wrong in the womb...but she is the sweetest dog we've ever had, and we are so blessed to have been "chosen" to give her a wonderful life, however long or short, it may be. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. thank you again for your time!
Sincerely
Colleen

Answer
Hello Colleen.... Well little Emma is lucky to have such a wonderful family to love her!!!  You are very special..

As far as the " Natural route"... Looks like raw is the way to go.  Also, filtered water is good, too.
There are some great herbs for the heart... Hawthorn Berries... and many more.  I have included some links for you to visit.
Hope they help:
Best wishes on the future.  You are doing a Good thing for this little one and for your family...
