bladder stones in dog

Question
My 8 yr old dog has been on Science Diet and is now on Prescription Science Diet U/D for the bladder stones.  I've been reading a lot of negative things about Science Diet lately and wonder what other kibble alternative I have for him.  I would like to know there's something else out there I could buy off a shelf.  I'm a single mom of two children (one bipolar/ODD/ADHD and the other ADHD), with the dog and two cats, I don't have much time for making special meals for the animals.  I noticed another answer regarding cranberry juice and garlic powder.  Is this something I should add to and keep him on Science Diet U/D?  I know it's specifically "calcium" that he should not have in his diet, but I'm not sure of anything else.  Are there any other foods that would be safe?

Thank you,
Jo

Answer
I'm not fond of Science Diet either. Even among kibbles it's junk IMHO. And the one for stones should not be used long term because it's not considered a complete diet.

I have a link to a website with a ton of good information for you, including what to feed him. It shouldn't take much time since most of what I saw didn't need cooking. You can feed it raw.
