Question
13+ old female cocker spaniel. 2 back surgeries leading to lack of emptying bladder - many bladder infections since age of 9.  Been on clavamox, baytril regularly for uti.  Found MRSA in bladder July 09 and treated with amoxicillin and baytril - so far success.  Now has MRSA on the skin based on a deep skin test.  Revealed staph intermedius group 2+ and resistant to following zmox/clav acid, amoxicillin, ceftiofur, cephalexin, enrofloxacin, erythromycin, oxacillin, penicillin g, tetracycline, tribrissen, moxifloxacin, ciprofloxacin and marbofloxacin.  Sensitive to rifampin, amikacin, linezolid, florfenicol, vancomycin, gentamicin and chloramphenicol.  We found out first of October 2009 her thyroid is .6 and we started her on .3 mg of levothyroxine sodium tablets.  Current treatment is bathing every other day in Pyoben and applying muricin ointment once a day.

Do you have any alternative treatment recommendations or also an traditional treatment recommendations.
