Question
I have a German Shepard he is about 5 yrs old.  In November I left town for a week and had a friend house sit and take care of my dogs.  Since then Ajax has to pee every 3 to 4 hours.  His water and food intake have not changed, nor has his behavior in any way. Is there anything I can do for him, is it possible he has a bladder infection?  He does not appear to be in pain, I can press on his belly and there is no swelling.  Could it be a behavior thing because I left him in November for a week and then again for a weekend?

I'm just not sure where to begin, and unfortunately I can't afford the vet right now.  I would appreciate any info you may be able to share.

Thanks

Answer
Hi Pam, the problem could be from not getting to potty when needed.  Your housesitter may have not allowed AJAX to go out and do his business when needed.  Yes, he could have urinary crystals or a slight UTI in his bladder.
See the vet when you can get the funds.
Otherwise:
Go to the store and buy some Cranberry pills ( the kind for humans).
Give him 2 per day for about 3 weeks.
It may help him fight off the possible infection.

I can give you more supplements, but I know you are short of Funds right now.
Start with the Cranberry and see if it helps.

Good Luck
