Question
Stephanie,
First, thank you very much for your time!!  my question is as follows:
I have a large tank (55 gal tall) with very few fish.  A small school of rasboras, a small school of neons and a pleco.  One of my rasboras recently began to swim "out of control".  It would turn completely upside down at times.  Others he would be right side up and with the school.  Any attempt to wrangle it and it swims with MUCH vigor and control.  Any idea what could be ailing it?

Answer
Hello!

Your fish's problem sounds a lot like a bacterial infection. It's hard to be specific as to which kind because many involve aimless swimming. I recommend a antibacterial like Melafix. In fact, if you can find Melafix at your local pet store, I highly recommend it. It is all natural, can be used often and helps.

Start with the Melafix, and if you notice any other syptoms or weird behaviours, contact me or a fish expert at your pet store.

Hope this helps!
