Question
Hi, just 3 days ago I got a Golden Lyretail Panchax Killifish (im pretty sure thats the exact kind since the one in the store wasnt labeled. Anyway, after he went into my tank I tried to feed everyone and he wouldn't eat. The next day I tried to feed him a little but he still wouldnt eat, and again today, but still he wouldn't eat. On the top of his back to his head is a faint and evenly distributed green and on the top of his it seems to me to be slightly flaking. Now I'm a kind of person to think these
of things, but it seems to me the green color has spread. Do you have any idea of any disease that he may have, and do you think he may just be eating left overs I just don't see him, if not how could i get him to eat (He should eat what im feeding him so i know thats not the problem) well my novel is done I hope you can help

Answer
Hi Lou,
If a fish ain't eating, don't force him. Please cut back on feeding. if any food hits the bottom of the tank it is too much. He might be scared after all he's been through. Does your tank have adequate hiding places? If any disease starts in the tank, please follow the emergency instructions at the bottom of this page. Make sure the water temperatures are even if you change any water. Uneven water temperature can make a bad situation worse. Winter is the worst time for this. Do not "over care" for fish by worrying whether they are eating.
