Question
I have a 29 gallon tank, and have had it running for about 2-3 months. It
houses 4 fish. A common pleco, 2 inches, a silver dollar, about 3 inches, a
fancy goldfish, about 2 inches, and then a goby dragon fish, at about 5
inches. I keep up pretty well with water maintenance, and the temp. is always
78-80F.

Ok, now to the problems! About 2 weeks ago, my silver dollar got ich. I used
Quick cure, which i am now assuming only turned the water blue and nothing
else. But it seemed to work at the time. 2 days ago, the dollar and goldfish
are covered with ich. (and i think the goby may have a little too.) i haven't
medicated the tank, since i am going to find a better, more effective cure.
What i did do, was remove all the plants and decorations.

And i do clean the gravel (we have a hang-on power pump btw,) but now that
i have removed all the deco, i see what i have been missing.. and others
things. it looks like there are white worms in the fish fecies. Some are short
and mosquito(sp)-like larvae, while the others are long, and skinny. They are
hiding in the rocks mostly, but i saw a few squiggle around in the water,
which the silver dollar quickly devoured...

My tank is having problems, i think. What should i do?

Answer
The trick with ICH is to raise the water temperature to about 78 degrees... I would say to raise it higher but you have mixed goldfish with tropical fish and goldfish are cold water fish not tropical.  Add aquarium salt and find a medication called super ICH cure by jungle... dave
