Question
when and how do I begin hand feeding my 4 baby cockatiels?  They are 2 weeks old now.

Answer
Hello Candy, I personally would have started from hatching day as I did with my budgie babies but too late for that now so heres what to do.....

Take them away from there perants and feed them every 2 1/2 to 3 hours on a warm handfeeding mixture hagen makes a good brand, be sure its not too hot by testing it on your wrist as you do with a babies bottle. Keep them in a large fish tank with towels as bedding, be sure theres a wire cover on the tank to pervent anything getting at them and pervent them getting out as they grow. Be sure to wipe there faces ff after each meal. You can use a bent spoon to feed them or my choice a plastic surange without the needle. Be sure to keep tehre bedding clean and be sure not to use towels with loose threads. Keep them warm by using a human heating pad under the tank, be sure they aren't exposed to sudden drafts or hot spots. After they are about 4 weeks old you may ad a perch of some sort to the cage, you can add simple toys like ball/bells once there eyes open they will be intreged as to what is shining in the corner. Good luck with yuor babies email me if you have further questions.
