eye infection

My bird is a fantail but the other day she woke up with her eye half closed up and each day it got worse and now it cant open its eye and it is completely closed up and when we thought it was getting better it started leaking out yellow pus and you can see the inside what do i do?

Hi Caitlin,

You need to get your fantail to an avian veterinarian right away for a medical treatment. This problem could be caused by a number of things and your bird likely needs antibiotics that only a vet can provide.  The vet can diagnose the problem and give you the correct antibiotic for what ails your bird.
